PMI is proud to give back to the community that supports us. Since 2000 we have had the privilege to sponsor, along with NASA,
the Arab High School FIRST Robotics team, the Dragon Slayers. The Dragon Slayers were the 2001 Southeast Regional Champions.
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science And Technology) was founded in 1989 by New Hampshire entrepreneur and
inventor Dean Kamen. FIRST is a non-Profit organization that brings together an alliance of business, education, and
government organizations through innovative programs to inspire today's youth in the areas of science, engineering and
technology. PMI is proud to have been one of those businesses for the past year. Below are links to pictures of Last years team.
Planning
Students and Staff make plans for their robot. This involves drawing out designs and
concepts as well as planning exactly how the machine will move and function.
Construction
With plans and blueprints in hand the students set out to take the machine from the drawing board to reality.
Testing
Once complete the robot is tested thoroughly and tweaked to make sure everything is in order.
Competition
After all the work is done it is time to go Compete.
